PAIN OF A MOTHER


It is so painful and sad how Wanjiru’s mother has been pushed to the wall day after day after the loss of her son and our hero who has brought hope in her life.  Some people call her psycho, others refer to her as an evil-mother-in-law, but I don’t agree with these at all.

Imagine, giving birth to a son and raising him up through hardships on your own till he becomes a star and a hero to be specific.  Then before you enjoy the fruits of your sweat, he is wiped away by greedy murderers ……  How would you feel?  Would you allow burial arrangements to go on before it is established who the murderer is?  According to Post-mortem into Samuel Wanjiru’s death, it showed that the Olympic God medalist died as a result of injuries to the head.  The postmortem also revealed that Wanjiru suffered injuries to the chest, cheeks and hands.  The Government Pathologist Dr. Njue, said that the injury to the back of the head was caused by a blunt object.

To inflict more pain to the deceased mother, ‘fathers’ who never chipped anything to support his son avail themselves during such a time.  Others go to an extent of filling a court case for DNA tests.  Not all men bear the crown of being termed as ‘fathers’.  Is it just the name ‘father’ yet you didn’t take the responsibility that comes with the title ‘Dad’? Thanks to Justice Anyara Emukule for declining Elijah  Cheboi plea to be allowed to seat in the funeral committee.

Kill by sword, die by sword.  Let investigations be keenly carried out to establish the murderer of our star Samuel Wanjiru.

Varsities Challenged to Implement Gender Parity in Education

Universities have been challenged to incorporate various strategies and policies to ensure equal gender representation in all circles of operation and management. This was echoed by various speakers at the opening ceremony of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) conference and gender training of Trainers workshop at the University of Nairobi (UoN).
