Live by Sword, Die by The Sword....
I hope when writing this article, the group of students from University of Nairobi who took law into their hands on Sunday 3rd July, 2011 by burning the two men will read this. I understand you were bitter following the rape of your fellow female comrades but as learned fellows, taking the law into one’s hands especially to extend of murder is unforgivable and abominable.
One of the students’ representatives said, ‘some of the guys that were on patrol took the initiative and they found the guys as they were about to rape a lady, and that is when they got hold of them and took action. We have no apologies to make and we are still going to act as students.’ I must admit that I doubt if this issue is based on any fact or you acted from fury.
According to police administration, one of the victims has been identified by a relative as Mr. Boventure Odhiambo Ndubi, who was until May 18th an employee of Hatari Security Guards. The other victim was identified by a relative as Moris Muiruri Mbau, 24, from Maragua. Imagine that, one of them was your own brother? How would you feel?
As the elites of tomorrow, I think it would be better if you caught them and presented them to the police since I don’t think among you there was a court to prove them guilty. Surely young people, when and where did hell break loose?
Remember when Cain murdered his brother Abel, God commanded him to wander the earth in punishment. Also when Judas saw that Jesus was condemned to die, he was quite remorseful and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and elders.
Anne Rice said, ‘the evil of one murder is infinite, and my guilt is like my beauty – eternal. I can not be forgiven, for there is no one to forgive me for all I have done.’ Therefore comrades, let wisdom rule you. Evil impulsive actions especially murder will always haunt you. And always remember, if you live by sword, you shall die by the sword.
